Concept
Trekking Mt Azumakofuji, hiking Mt Issaikyo, Mt Nishiazuma and Mt Bandai, trekking through Goshikinuma (5day 4night mountaineering tour), with the first night at a mountain lodge "Azumagoya Lodge", the second night at Nature Cottage Akabeko and the third and fourth nights at a hotel of choice.
Special accommodation experiences in mountain lodge favoured by climbers. You can climb two of Japan's 100 most famous mountains and admire the two Goshikinuma Pond in Fukushima Prefecture.
Mt Issaikyo: A mountain on the border between Fukushima City and Inawashiro Town, Fukushima Prefecture. It is one of the mountains that make up the Azuma Mountain range. It is an active volcano that is still volcanically active, and its summit is covered with rock rubble. The elevation is 1,948 metres.
Mt Azumakofuji: An active volcanic mountain with an elevation of 1,707 metres in Fukushima City, Fukushima Prefecture. It is one of the Azuma Mountain range. It has a large mortar-shaped crater and is so named because it looks like a small Mt Fuji when seen from the Fukushima City side.
Mt Nishiazuma: One of the peaks of the Azuma Mountain range, with its main axis running east-west, and the highest peak in the mountain range at 2,035 m. It is the second highest peak in the Ou Mountains after Mt Iwate. The summit is surrounded by trees and does not offer a view, but there are many places with good views on the way up the mountain. Selected as one of the 100 most famous mountains in Japan.
Mt Bandai: 1,816-meter active volcano, selected as one of the 100 most famous mountains in Japan, and is considered one of the symbols of Fukushima Prefecture. It is a popular mountain for climbers due to its excellent views.
*This tour can be arranged to be Muslim and vegetarian friendly. Vegans are not catered for.

Day 1
13:30 Pick up at JR Fukushima Station by tour bus.
15:00 Check in at Azumagoya Lodge (91-year-old mountain lodge at 1576 m altitude).
16:00 Walking to Mt Azumakofuji (1707m) and Okenuma Pond.
18:00 Dinner (set menu).
21:00 Lights out time (for energy conservation, the lodge has a set lights out time).
Day 2
7:30 Breakfast (set menu)
8:40 Departure from Azumagoya Lodge(1576m) (on foot).
9:00 Arrive at Jododaira Visitor Centre and start climbing. (1600m)(accompanied by a local guide).
10:30 Arrive at the summit of Mt Issaikyo(1948m). View Goshikinuma from the summit (There are two Goshikinuma in Fukushima).
11:00 Departure from the summit.
12:00 Arrival at Kamanuma Pond, lunch (packed lunch).
12:40 Departure from Kamanuma Pond.
14:00 Arrive at Jododaira Visitor Centre(1600m).
14:30 Arrival at Azumagoya Lodge(1576m), coffee break.

Day 3

7:00 Depart Nature Cottage Akabeko (tour bus).
8:00 Arrive at Tengendai ski resort ropeway boarding area.
8:25 Board ropeway, then lifts.
9:10 Start climbing (1820m) (accompanied by a local mountain guide).
11:30 Arrive at the summit of Mt Nishiazuma(2035m).
12:00 Lunch (packed lunch).
14:00 Arrive at Mt Nishidaiten summit(1981m), descent start.
16:00 Arrive at Grandeco ropeway summit station(1390m). Take ropeway.
16:30 Descend to Grandeco ski area(1040m), and the tour bus picks you up.
17:00 Arrival at the hotel.
Day 4
7:30 Breakfast (time may vary)
8:30 Departure from hotel (tour bus).
9:00 Arrive at Urabandai ski resort trailhead and start climbing(904m) (accompanied by a local mountain guide).
9:50 Akanuma Pond (copper colour pond) (1116m)
12:20 Arrive at the summit of Mt Bandai(1816m), lunch (packed lunch).
12:50 Start descent.
16:00 Arrive at Happodai parking lot(1194m), tour bus picks you up.
16:40 Arrive at hotel.
18:00 Dinner (time may vary).
Day 5
7:30 Breakfast (times may vary).
8:30 Check out.
9:00 Goshikinuma Pond trekking (no guide).
10:30 Finish Goshikinuma Pond trekking and take tour bus to Koriyama.
12:00 Arrive at JR Koriyama Station (place of disbandment).
*Occupation on day 1 is in a mountain lodge, in the same area as the dining hall, in a shared room for men and women (10 people) and one private room (maximum 3 people) and an attendant's room (1 person). Toilet and shower facilities are shared. Travel agents should inform their guests that they will be staying in such a lodge (not a typical hotel) and obtain their approval.
Azumagoya Lodge will cater for Muslim and vegetarian friendly menus.
The second beat is in a rented cottage, with 2-4 persons staying in one cottage.

Excluded dates
Please enquire about exclusion dates during summer holidays, peak season during the foliage season and consecutive holidays, including Japanese holidays, as these dates may be excluded from the tour set up.

Cancellation fees
All cancellations: 30% 31 days, 50% 14 days, 70% 7 days, 80% the day before, 100% on the day/no overnight stay
Reduction: 20% 7 days before, 50% the day before, 100% on the day/non-accommodation.
Customisation

Transportation
The itinerary shows the tour bus will be used from the meeting point at Fukushima Station to the dismissal at Koriyama Station. Please contact us for pick-up and drop-off at other locations. Example: Aizuwakamatsu Station, Fukushima Airport, etc.
